Leader of the Opposition Arnhim Eustace has postponed “to a date to be announced” a “major address” he was slated to deliver on Wednesday about the situation of women in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The postponement was announced on Tuesday, but not reasons were given.

“Please be advised that the Major address to women by the Hon. Leader of the Opposition Arnhim Eustace slated for Wednesday March 11. 2015 at the NDP headquarters has been postponed to a date to be announced,” New Democratic Party spokesperson Sen. Vynnette Frederick said in an email to the media on Tuesday.

Frederick is yet to respond to an I-Witness News email inquiring about the reasons for the postponement.

Frederick had earlier said that the address would feature “a ten-point plan for re-positioning the women of St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the centre of policy to protect, promote, respect and empower them”.

“Our Women are the backbone of our nation. In the spirit of International Women’s Day celebrated this week, the Honourable Arnhim Eustace will deliver a major message to the women of St. Vincent and the Grenadines which will outline the NDP’s position and policy regarding empowerment and advancement of women in St. Vincent and the Grenadines at all levels,” she said last week, when the speech was first announced.
