On Nov. 26, 2015, I was in prayer for the nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and was given Jeremiah 9. As I read the chapter of this book of the weeping prophet Jeremiah, I was taken aback by the similarity of the conditions of that nation for which Jeremiah was lamenting.

Like the prophet Jeremiah, the cry of prayer warriors and intercessors should be echoed in this time of trouble in this nation of SVG.

Jeremiah cried “Oh, that my eyes were a fountain of tears that I would weep for forever; I would sob day and night for the slain of my people. Oh, that I could go away and forget them and live in some wayside shack in the desert, for that are all adulterous, treacherous men.

“They bend their tongues like bows to shoot their arrows of untruth. They care nothing for right and go from bad to worse: they care nothing for me” says the LORD.

Beware of neighbors. Beware of your brother. All take advantage of one another and spread their slanderous lies. With practiced tongues they fool and defraud each other; they wear themselves out with all their sinning.

“They pile evil upon evil, lie upon lie, and utterly refuse to come to Me.” says the LORD. (The Book Edition)

According to the readings of Jeremiah, judgement was about to be meted out upon the nation of Jerusalem. But the Almighty God, who is full of compassion, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance, gave Jeremiah a solution to the problem before the destruction.

This is what verse 17-18 says: “The Lord Almighty says; Send for the mourners. Quick, begin your crying (wailing). Let the tears flow from your eyes”.

Let us now, as in Jeremiah’s time, issue a call for the wailers and let a cry be taken up before the Lord God of Host for the people of this noble nation of SVG.

Let us gather and weep and mourn, He can save by few or many. It is not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit sayeth the LORD.

  1. Yes, it is all very sad. the evil that has taken hold of SVG for all these many years, destroying this nation’s soul. We have so many that will trade their souls for lumber and galvanize. It is like the 30 pieces of Silver. Those leaders that will trick and deceive their people should find their place inn hell as the future generations are being robbed of the wealth they will never see because of excessive spending beyond the means of our economy causing a constant increase in taxes, duties and fees, more than the poor can afford, and then they are made dependent on poor relief.
    Pray for this nation!

  2. Oh ye of little faith “the voice of one crying”. Where is the hope my friend? Why are you crying in the face of hard times? Are you not a child of God?

“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us-Romans 5:3-5

So let me get this straight, had the NDP won…will there still be wailing and mourning in Vincyland? Or are you saying that Vincyland is like Sodom and Gomorrah and its just a matter of time before, the big bang from above? I am trying to interpret your sermon, not sure if this a doom and gloom scenario or you just lack the necessary spiritual strength to endure this perceived hardship that you are mourning about.

The voice of one crying, what did Karl Marx say about Religion?

    1. Bruds, I couldn’t have said it better myself. These hypocritical, self-righteous, ignoramuses need to be put in their damn place … and then ignored.
