Edinboro resident Terron Prince was on Monday remanded into custody when he appeared before the Serious Offences Court charged with possession of a 9mm Luger pistol and six rounds of 9mm ammunition without licences.

Police arrested Prince in Kingstown on Satuday, Oct. 15.

Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias denied Prince bail after Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche objected to bail on the ground that at the time of Prince’s arrest he was on bail on a charge of robbery — a matter which was sent on for trial before the High Court.

Delpesche told the court that a firearm was allegedly used in the robbery.

Browne-Matthias told the defendant she was not at all granting him bail and that if he so desired he could apply for bail at the High Court.

The magistrate asked the arresting officer to get on the ball to have his investigations completed so that the file can be submitted and the matter can be dealt with expeditiously.

The matter was adjourned to Nov.9.
