Nine swimmers from St. Vincent’s Black Sands Swim Squad competed in the Barbados National Swimming Championships March 9-12, bringing home more medals to add to their collection.

Olympian, Nikolas Sylvester added two gold medals to his collection, winning both the 100 meters breaststroke and backstroke. Dillon Gooding and Alex Joachim swam themselves onto the medal podium, winning two silver and three bronze medals. Throughout the event Gooding achieved eight personal best times and Joachim five.

Aaron Defreitas swam three personal best times and won himself two silver medal and Bryson George came away with one bronze medal and six personal best times.

Daniel Bailey, Tyrese Lewis, Mya Defreitas and Jamie Joachim also attended the event.

Though unable to get themselves onto the medal podium, all swimmers achieved personal best times and delivered outstanding performances in their races.
