The North Windward Carnival Development Committee presents Miss Windward 2018 beauty pageant. The pageant will be held at the Chili Playing Field in Georgetown on June 8, 8 p.m.

The contestants in the Miss Windward 2018 beauty pageant are:

  1. Italia Andrews — Miss North Union, sponsored by Woods Apartment
  2. Sabrina Browne — Miss Chapmans, sponsored by Sampson Boy Investments
  3. Wallicia Browne — Miss Georgetown, sponsored by VIBE Promotion
  4. Deantai Davis — Miss Biabou, sponsored by Rock Hard Cement
  5. Shafiker Hector — Miss New Grounds, sponsored by Bucky`s Auto
  6. Nicole Stephens — Miss Magum, sponsored by HPW Foundation

Contestant No. 1 — Italia Andrews – Miss North Union

Italia Andrews was born on 22nd March 2001 to Bridget Andrews and Mohorn Archibald. She resides in the quiet and peaceful community of North Union. Italia attended the New Grounds Primary School and is currently a fifth form student of the North Union Secondary School.

This is Italia’s first attempt at pageantry; she embraces this challenge as it is a great opportunity for personal development. Italia is very passionate about children and one of the areas of concern to her is child molestation. She aspires to be a Police Officer where she can serve and protect women and children against abuse.

Contestant No. 2 — Sabrina Browne – Miss Chapmans

Sabrina Browne of Chapmans Village was born on August 4, 1998. She describes herself as a strong, ambitious and authentic young lady.

Sabrina is a former student of the Thomas Saunders Secondary School; and is currently enrolled as a second-year student at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College: Division of Arts, Science and General Studies. Sabrina has a strong passion for entrepreneurship and thus decided to pursue an Associate`s Degree in Business Studies. Sabrina intends to own a boutique that caters to the needs of different classes of people within our society.

Sabrina is new to pageantry; however, she is prepared to do her best, and to show young women they can love themselves regardless of their flaws. Sabrina sees this pageant as a great opportunity for self development; she believes that the training will help her to become a better person.

Contestant No. 3 — Wallicia Browne – Miss Georgetown

Wallicia Browne was born on the 10th July 1999 to Marva Browne and Casworth Ryan of Georgetown. Her educational journey began at the Georgetown Government School. She continued her education at the Thomas Saunders Secondary School where she spent three years before moving to the St. Joseph Convent in Marriaqua.

Wallicia graduated from the St. Joseph Convent Marriaqua with seven (7) O’Levels. She continued her education at the St.Vincent and the Grenadines Community College Division of Technical and Vocational Education where she studied Culinary Arts.

Wallicia had a short stint at the Lady of Guadeloupe Home for Girls in Marriaqua. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, writing her own songs, hanging with friends, trying new things or working on a master plan for a successful future. She is also an active member of Chaz Modeling Agency.

Wallicia is guided by the belief that “all things are possible through Christ” and “Nothing worth having comes easy.”

Contestant No. 4 — Deantai Davis – Miss Biabou

Nineteen-year-old Deantai Davis is a graduate of the West St. George Secondary School. Deantai is a lover of the Arts and enjoys singing and dancing. Deantai aspires to be a Teacher or Police Officer. She loves to take care of her younger siblings and believes that children are the future and as such they should be treasured.

Deantai decided to enter the Miss Windward 2018 pageant in order to gain more knowledge of pageantry. Deantai intends to enter the Miss SVG pageant in the near future.

Contestant No. 5 – Shafiker Hector – Miss New Grounds

Twenty-one-year-old Shafiker Hector is a teacher at the New Life Ministries Pre-School. She is a resident of the picturesque community of New Grounds. She was born on 28th August 1996. Her educational journey began at the New Grounds Primary School. After graduating Primary School, Shafiker enrolled at the North Union Secondary School. Shafiker aspires to one day become a Veterinarian.

Shafiker considers herself to be an ambitious, friendly, confident and humble person. In her spare time Shafiker enjoys singing, dancing, interacting with people and spending quality time with family and friends.

Shafiker is no stranger to pageantry. She participated in two pageants in 2015. She entered the Miss Independence Teen and the Miss Glamorous Bikini pageants.

Shafiker possesses a positive attitude and believes that in all things, one must put one’s best foot forward, maintaining that one should never give up on his or her dreams since, as Walt Disney said, “All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them.”

Winning the Miss Windward pageant would not only be an honor but the fulfillment of a life-long dream for shafiker.

 Contestant No. 6 — Nicole Stephens – Miss Magum

Nicole, Nicola, Nicketa Stephens was born on Feb. 28, 2003 to Debra Francis and Adolphus King. She grew up in the small community of Magum; a small village on the Windward side of the island.

Nicole enjoys and has a passion for music and track and field. She developed a passion and love for track and field while attending Primary School. She is currently a fourth form student at the St.Vincent Girls High School. Nicole aspires to become a Paediatrician due to her love and care for younger children.

Although she has no previous experience in beauty pageants, Nicole has always had a desire to enter the Miss Windward Pageant. Nicole believes that capturing the Miss Windward 2018 title would not only contribute to her personal development, but it will inspire other young ladies with similar backgrounds and commitments to achieve things once thought beyond their reach or status.
