Minibus association president Anthony Bacchus said on Tuesday that members of his executive met with Transport Minister Sen. Francis and other ministry officials.

The parties reached an agreement, which Francis will present to Cabinet on Wednesday.

“Due to this negotiation … we are delaying the action to be taken tomorrow. We are calling off the strike,” Bacchus told the NBC Radio on Tuesday.

“So, there will be no strike tomorrow and we are awaiting the result coming back from the Cabinet, which the minister will take there for the increase of the fares,” he further said.

In announcing the strike on Friday, Bacchus said minibus owners have been operating under “a very serious deficit” and could not continue like this any longer.
