BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – A Denton humanitarian shipment will be delivered to St. Vincent with the assistance of the U.S based Good News Project and its local counterpart, the Archdiocese of Kingstown on Thursday, the U.S. Embassy here has announced.

The shipment of medical and hygiene items, household and hardware items, clothing and baby items, furniture, stationery and recreational toys will arrive at the E.T. Joshua Airport at 2 p.m.

The Denton Programme is a commodities transportation programme jointly administered by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Department of State and the Department of Defence.

The Denton Amendment provides the authority for the Department of Defence to use extra space on U.S. military cargo aircraft to transport humanitarian assistance materials donated by non-governmental organizations, international organizations and private voluntary organization for humanitarian relief.

This program offers free transportation only on a space available basis.
