KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – Members of the opposition New Democratic Party are being tracked, according to Central Kingstown representative St. Clair Leacock.

He said on radio this week that he will soon release information in this regard.

“I will not long from now give you the vehicles that track me in any direction I go in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. There is a level of surveillance that is being put on members of the New Democratic Party [that] is unbelievable. We almost don’t have any privacy anymore in what we do. Not just at the level of your telephone lines but even your physical movements. It is getting more and more despotic,” he said.

Leacock did not say who was tracking the opposition figures or the reasons why.

He made the point while discussing how Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves could receive “impeccable” intelligence about a recent trip to Antigua by the leadership of the NDP.
