KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has postponed his trip to Qatar and Kuwait and is “resting comfortably” at a hotel in Barbados, a government spokesman said on Friday.

Gonsalves had delayed his trip after he complained of not feeling well during a stopover in Barbados Wednesday.

Elson Crick, communication consultant in the Office of the Prime Minister, said Friday that the Prime Minister’s wife, Eloise Gonsalves, would join in Barbados on Friday.

“A determination as to when he will returned to Kingstown will be made over the weekend,” Crick said in an email to the media.

Gonsalves was on his way to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) when he complained of feeling unwell and went to see a doctor in Barbados.

New York based Ambassador to the United Nations Camillo Gonsalves, who is also part of the delegation, was already in Kuwait.
