KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – Talk show host Elwardo “E.G.” Lynch returns as host of the New Democratic Party’s (NDP) daily radio programme – New Times – today at 10:30 a.m., three days after a brief appearance at Victoria Park during the Calypso Finals.

The NDP said in a press statement last week, that Lynch recently returned from the United States where he received months of treatment for an eye ailment and is “pleased to be returning to the moderator’s chair after a long hiatus”.

NDP President, Opposition Leader Arnhim Eustace, announced Lynch’s return on Monday during his weekly appearance on the programme.

Lynch hosted the programme for 11 years before he developed vision problems. During his absence, NDP Public Relations Officer Ernesto Cooke was hosted the programme.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has successfully sued Lynch for statements he made against him.

Lynch appeared on stage at Dimanche Gras during Elvis “Abijah” Abbey’s performance of “They Love The Poor”.

He came on stage wearing dark glasses and carrying a piece of stick which he used as a white in a deptiction of blindness as the artiste sang, “You went to Bethlehem and come back holy./ Not a cent you give Lynch to help him see./” – a reference to Gonsalves’ none contribution to Lynch’s medical fund.

Lynch later removed the sunglasses as he completed his walk across the stage.
