A spat over a passenger by two minibus conductors on Tuesday is said to have led to a fight later that day that left one of them nursing chops wounds to the neck and fingers.

Reports say that one of the conductors, identified as “Omar” and said to be a resident of Redemption Sharpes, had three of his fingers severed during the altercation.

A police source told I-Witness News on Wednesday morning that he was awaiting further update on the situation but as of Tuesday night the incident was not fatal.

There were reports Tuesday night and Wednesday morning that the injured man had succumbed to his injuries.

But a relative of the other man reportedly involved in the fight, Kevin “Nose” Chance, of Chauncey, said police came to their home Tuesday night looking for him in connection with the incident.

The relative said that Chance was not at home at the time and that they were not sure whether he was taken into custody.

The relative further said that they had heard reports Tuesday night and Wednesday morning that the injured man had died, but one of the injured man’s kin had said Tuesday night that that was not the case.
