GEORGETOWN, Guyana – St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ Minister of Agriculture, Saboto Caesar, has been appointed to chair CARICOM’s Alliance for Sustainable Development of Agriculture and the Rural Milieu (The Alliance) for the next two years. The decision was taken during Caribbean Week of Agriculture, which ends on Saturday. The Alliance is a grouping of representatives of stakeholders involved in agriculture and rural development. The representatives of Governments, private sector, academia, rural women, youth and technology developers dialogue as EQUALS with the Ministers being first among equals. The Alliance in its functioning sets out to dismantle the artificial barriers within the Caribbean that were established during colonial and neo-colonial periods. (Details to follow)

This has to be a real joke. What has he done to be given that task? At home he has been a dismal failre. Agriculture is at its lowest ebb ever under stewardship.

  2. Minister Caesar is the best possible choice for my money. I have been monitoring his interactions with stakeholders in Antigua at CWA 2012 and here in Guyana for CWA 2013, he is a Ministers who pays attention, asks intelligent questions and seems genuinely interested in his portfolio.
