CIBC FirstCaribbean ComTrust Foundation is donating EC$100,000 to assist in the rebuilding process after the Christmas Eve floods and landslides.

These funds will support a number of areas including education and medicine. In this regard, EC$10,000 will go towards school supplies for children who lost these items in the flood; EC$25,000 to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital; EC$40,000 to the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) for food items and toiletries; EC$20,000 to be used by the sports and social activities committee for staff outreach and an additional $5,000 to NEMO to cover the cost of transportation of items to shelters across the island. Assistance to persons in shelters by the bank also commenced last Saturday.

CIBC First Caribbean ComTrust Foundation is an entity set up to manage the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility. CEO, Rik Parkhill, is the Chairman and several senior managers of the bank serve as Trustees of the Foundation. There is one external trustee, Attorney-at-law, Sir Fred Gollop, who also sits on the bank’s parent Board.
