Police on Monday arrested and charged Laymond Harry, a 34-year-old labourer of Lowmans Windward with the murder of Kelborne Pope, 33, a labourer of Lauders, which occurred in Lauders around 9:20 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say that Pope reportedly sustained a chop wound to the back of his neck.

An autopsy is expected to be performed.

Pope’s death brings to 10 the number of murders in St. Vincent and the Grenadines so far, four of which have occurred in the last month.

The bullet-riddled body of Sion Hill resident 25-year-old Roger Bramble was discovered in Brighton on April 14.

That discovery came two days after the body of Rillan Hill resident Miranda “Wiggy” Williams, 34, was found in Penniston with a bullet to the chest.

On March 22, Nolly Jack of Campden Park was found dead on the road to Lowman’s Bay, hours after her left home to go fishing.

He was shot and killed.
