The winner of the Special Olympics SVG (SOSVG) bingo jackpot, Cassandra Richards has decided to share her EC$2,000 prize with Take Us to the World, the effort to take 25 Special Olympians from SVG to the World Games in Los Angeles next year

Richards won the money at a fundraising bingo in Kingstown, sponsored by St. Vincent Brewery Ltd.

“I was thrilled at winning the jackpot. When I listened to the speeches and was told about the ‘Take Us to the World’ campaign I just had to show my support by sharing the prize.

“I hope many others will follow me in making sure our athletes can get to America next year for the World Game”.

Special Olympics SVG last participated in the World Games, in Northern Ireland in 2003, sending the largest team ever — 20 athletes and six officials. Back then the team won 15 medals (3 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze).

“It is once again our aim to be part of this most prestigious event and take pride in giving our athletes the opportunity of bringing back gold. Cassandra is a great example and we know others will step up,” National Director of Janice McMaster SOSVG said.

  1. Good deed and many should follow. Why no comment on this article? If it was something to do with politics or “comess” then it would have been riddled with comments. Why no repost this on your social sites to expose a good deed. Instead we world have reposted a naked woman, a murdered man etc. Exposing all the negativities of SVG the world instead of good deeds like this…..Peace!!!
