(Read Anesia Baptiste’s ‘Liberties under threat by the gay agenda’)

As a straight man, I have a certain homophobic fear of gay men. It’s something that is bred in you in St. Vincent.  Fortunately it is not in my makeup to hate people, only situations.

Last year, someone wrote about gay people in SVG, so, as an avid researcher of everything that I write about, I decided to carry out in-depth research into the subject.

One of my cousins is a leading psychiatrist in Florida and he specialises in criminal behaviour by paedophiles and all the reasons for their behaviour, etc.

He also has studied the behaviour and reasons for people that are homosexuals.

I started by asking him a whole lot of questions.

Q: Why are some men homosexual?

A: There are a number of reasons but in the very simplest of terms, there are two types (in fact many more).

1. Some men have a  gene (not a gay gene), which is predominately female; a gene imbalance, which can, but not always,  cause the production of  oestrogens out of balance to the production of testosterones.

(Oestrogen — any of a group of steroid hormones which promote the development and maintenance of female characteristics of the body. Testosterone — a steroid hormone stimulating development of male secondary sexual characteristics.)

2. In some men homosexuality is a perversion, which becomes an obsession.

It is my belief this state is comparatively rare compared with the gene imbalance, if you can call it such.   This state is more than often the cause, but is not limited to, a man being what is known as bisexual.

In the first case or instant, the homosexual with the predominantly female gene imbalance is more than often revolted by even the thought of having sex with a woman. They are often horrified by even the thought of such. In fact, they are as, or often more, revolted than a straight woman contemplating having sex with another straight woman.

Q: Are homosexual men more likely to be paedophiles than straight men.

A: No. In fact, some believe there is less paedophilia known in homosexual men than straight men.  But like all of mankind you can have homosexual men who are paedophiles, just the same as you have straight men that are paedophiles.

Most homosexual men are revolted by men having sex with underage children.

Myths versus Facts

MYTH #1

Gay men molest children at far higher rates than heterosexuals.

THE FACTS

According to the American Psychological Association, “homosexual men are not more likely to sexually abuse children than heterosexual men are.” Gregory Herek, a professor at the University of California, Davis, who is one of the nation’s leading researchers on prejudice against sexual minorities, reviewed a series of studies and found no evidence that gay men molest children at higher rates than heterosexual men.

Anti-gay activists who make that claim allege that all men who molest male children should be seen as homosexual. But research by A. Nicholas Groth, a pioneer in the field of sexual abuse of children, shows that is not so. Groth found that there are two types of child molesters: fixated and regressive. The fixated child molester — the stereotypical paedophile — cannot be considered homosexual or heterosexual because “he often finds adults of either sex repulsive” and often molests children of both sexes. Regressive child molesters are generally attracted to other adults, but may “regress” to focusing on children when confronted with stressful situations. Groth found that the majority of regressed offenders were heterosexual in their adult relationships.

The Child Molestation Research and Prevention Institute notes that 90 per cent of child molesters target children in their network of family and friends. Most child molesters, therefore, are not gay people lingering outside schools waiting to snatch children from the playground, as much religious-right rhetoric suggests.

There is many times more chance of children being molested by hierarchical members of religious groups, priests and preachers than any other group of people.

MYTH #2:

People become homosexual because they were sexually abused as children or there was a deficiency in sex-role modelling by their parents.

THE FACTS

No scientifically sound study has linked sexual orientation or identity with parental role-modelling or childhood sexual abuse.

The American Psychiatric Association noted in a 2000 fact sheet on gay, lesbian and bisexual issues that “no specific psychosocial or family dynamic cause for homosexuality has been identified, including histories of childhood sexual abuse.” The fact sheet goes on to say that sexual abuse does not appear to be any more prevalent among children who grow up and identify as gay, lesbian or bisexual than in children who grow up and identify as heterosexual.

Similarly, the National Organization on Male Sexual Victimization notes on its website that “experts in the human sexuality field do not believe that premature sexual experiences play a significant role in late adolescent or adult sexual orientation” and added that it’s unlikely that someone can make another person gay or heterosexual.

With regard to Schumm’s study, critics have already said that he appears to have merely aggregated anecdotal data, a biased sample that invalidates his findings.

MYTH # 3

Gay people are more prone to be mentally ill and to abuse drugs and alcohol.

THE FACTS

All major professional mental health organizations are on record as stating that homosexuality is not a mental disorder.

It is true that LGBT people suffer higher rates of anxiety, depression, and depression-related illnesses and behaviour’s like alcohol and drug abuse than the general population. But studies done during the past 15 years have determined that it is the stress of being a member of a minority group in an often-hostile society — and not LGBT identity itself — that accounts for the higher levels of mental illness and drug use.

Richard J. Wolitski, an expert on minority status and public health issues at the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, put it like this in 2008: “Economic disadvantage, stigma, and discrimination … increase stress and diminish the ability of individuals [in minority groups] to cope with stress, which in turn contribute to poor physical and mental health.”

MYTH # 4

No one is born gay.

THE FACTS

Modern science cannot state absolutely conclusively in all cases what causes sexual orientation, but a great many studies suggest that it is the result of biological (gene imbalance) and environmental forces, not a personal “choice.” One of the more recent is a 2008 Swedish study of twins (the world’s largest twin study) that appeared in The Archives of Sexual Behaviour and concluded that “homosexual behaviour is largely shaped by genetics and random environmental factors.” Dr. Qazi Rahman, study co-author and a leading scientist on human sexual orientation, said: “This study puts cold water on any concerns that we are looking for a single ‘gay gene’ [although genes play a major roll] or a single environmental variable which could be used to ‘select out’ homosexuality — the factors which influence sexual orientation are complex. And we are not simply talking about homosexuality here — heterosexual behaviour is also influenced by a mixture of genetic [balanced genes] and environmental factors.”

MYTH # 5

Gay people can choose to leave homosexuality.

THE FACTS

“Reparative” or sexual reorientation therapy — the pseudo-scientific foundation of the ex-gay movement — has been rejected by all the established and reputable American medical, psychological, psychiatric, and professional counselling organisations. In 2009, for instance, the American Psychological Association adopted a resolution, accompanied by a 138-page report, that repudiated ex-gay therapy. The report concluded that compelling evidence suggested that cases of individuals going from gay to straight were “rare” and that “many individuals continued to experience same-sex sexual attractions” after reparative therapy. The APA resolution added that “there is insufficient evidence to support the use of psychological interventions to change sexual orientation” and asked “mental health professionals to avoid misrepresenting the efficacy of sexual orientation change efforts by promoting or promising change in sexual orientation.” The resolution also affirmed that same-sex sexual and romantic feelings are normal.

Some of the most striking, if anecdotal, evidence of the ineffectiveness of sexual reorientation therapy has been the numerous failures of some of its most ardent advocates. For example, the founder of Exodus International, Michael Bussee, left the organisation in 1979 with a fellow male ex-gay counsellor because the two had fallen in love. Alan Chambers, current president of Exodus, said in 2007 that with years of therapy, he’s mostly conquered his attraction to men, but then admitted, “By no means would we ever say that change can be sudden or complete.”

Some personal thoughts

Myself as a Christian, I believe when considering homosexuals one must, I suppose, remember that God made everyone, including some with gene imbalance and some with balanced genes. So if God made them that way, who is Anesia Baptiste to query God’s workings on this matter.

So Ms Baptiste, preaching hatred and behaving in such a way you are encouraging hatred and violence in the Vincentian society, I am sure your aware of that, because you are an intelligent being. Having thought about what and why you wrote this article, I believe with the upcoming elections, you are bidding to a certain group within our society and this is your opening salvo in your election campaign. For you to be using this matter for this purpose is sheer wickedness on your part.

Your article is all about hatred, it is in my view therefore a hate crime. Because you wrote it here or there makes little difference, the Internet is international, when you go to Europe or the United States, someone or some group will, I hope, bring an action against you.

I am sure with such views, although you may get invited to international and regional conferences as you have before, when I send them a copy of your article, it may be goodnight Mrs Doubt-Fire Richards-Baptiste.

I think for anyone to vote for you in the upcoming elections, someone I would describe as a religious fanatic, is as bad as anyone voting for Gonsalves, someone I consider a Marxist fanatic. In my opinion, you are unfit to lead either a Church or a People, because you preach hatred. Most of us in SVG believe we have just gone through the last 15 years living the extreme hatred emanating from political leaders. The last thing we want is more of it.

I consider you a disgrace to humanity, and as God created humanity, a disgrace before God.

People what I wrote here I write without hatred and would ask you all to keep hatred from your hearts, because it will devour you.

  1. Mr.binose you preach hate every week so you are no better than Anesia ,two peas in a pod. Leave the gay agenda alone and stick to your Ralph hating chronicles. We are tired of. People like you who hide behind the pen and paper to spur hatred and untruths.

  2. A good read. Oddly enough, Ms. Baptiste left me with a sense that she was writing from a place of fear more than anything else. But, since I do not share her position it is really neither here nor there to me. All I could say is that the life a homosexual is prone to so fraught with peril and conflict from the gitgo that I cannot easily see why anyone would make such a lifestyle choice. Something involuntary or some involuntary things have to be at work, in large part, in this matter of a homosexuality. People don’t usually just set out looking for a ‘hard’ life.

  3. Peter Binose says:

    Dear Angel of the night

Would you like to show me one thing I have ever written about Gonsalves which is untrue and prove it to be so. I never promote hatred, in fact the opposite.

I never knowingly write untruths. From time to time we can all be misinformed, but I always make corrections if I later find something I wrote is untrue.

JJ James she writes from the position of a fanatical religeous position, combined with her obsession of being our nex PM.

  4. Dear Mr. Binose,
I read your article with great interest concerning Mrs. A. Baptiste. and Homosexuals.I also read the Homosexuals manifesto. if this is the case ,we should be concerned, although I at times disagree with her extreme train of thought she didn’t express hatred for people with alternative life styles. The word of God ,as expressed in the Book of Leviticus18:22,23; 20:13-14; ROMANS 1:24-27; 2Timothy 1:1-7 and finally 2Peter3:3-7. Take some some and read the word of God . King David expressed his thoughts in Psalm 14 &53.
Know the truth and the truth will set you free. It appears as though you are the one who is spreading hatred as a suppose christian.

  5. No surprise here that Peter Binose fell in with Anesia’s borrowed article… Birds of a Feather all! But I was a bit surprised when he began to castigate her. I almost died with laughter. What a pathetic fellow.

  6. Jamal williams says:

Mr. Binose I read Ms Baptiste ‘Liberties under threat by the gay agenda and I didn’t get any feeling of hate being portrayed. What I read was a woman defending her country against a monstrous entity which is the real gay agenda. Mr. Binose you are the one Guilty of hate, for you to consider Ms Baptiste a disgrace to the human race and to God wow!!! Those are some powerful words that I wouldn’t even say to my enemy. To address the matter at hand here and now. when in this country you have teachers alledgely taking sexual advantage of little boys in schools and nothing comes of it, that’s proof that we are dealing with something dark. The reports of homosexuality in our schools is something we must deal with before it becomes the norm and poison the productivity of the human race. If it was in my genes for me to be a murderer? would that make it right for me to murder? If i was born handicap? should i go to school with regular kids? The mealybugs were created by God too but should we allow the mealybug to hinder our banana production or should we do something about it? If we are going to allow the talk of entertaining a legal homosexual lifestyle here, then we must entertain along with it incest, beastality, adultery, polygamy and all other considered wrong doings of a sexual nature. for they all will have the same effects on society. Just something to think about…

  7. Jamal williams says:

Mr. Binose you are the one preaching hatred here. You consider Ms Baptiste a disgrace to the human race and to God? like wow!! I wouldn’t even say those words to my worst enemy. I must stand with Ms. Baptiste on this issue even though i agree she is a religious fanatic. However, Have you ever heard the term natural born killers? well some people are genetically engineered to kill. God made them with that instinct. that does not make murder justified does it? If a man goes insane he is regarded as a threat to society and then taken to a mental institution. But isn’t a Gay Agenda a threat against the human race? When we have cases of teachers sexually molesting and raping students of the same gender and nothing comes of it, no prosecution nothing. that shows that something is wrong with our society due to the power of the Gay agenda presence in our own government. I dont hate gay people, I just think that being Gay defeats the agenda of the human race which is to procreate and insure the survival of our species. That’s just my opinion I might be wrong and if I am, then lets make everything right. lets not be hypocrites about this. if a man having sex and marrying another man or women having same gender sex and marrying is the future then what the hell lets go all the way. for if that is right or normal in your eyes we might as well make beastality, incest, polygamy, statuary rape, and adultery the norm in society as well. There is absolutely no difference here they are all sexual perversions. Mr.Binose you said God created Gay people so we should just let them be. But God also created the mealybug, so should we stand by and let the mealybug hinder food production in the country? God created many diseases, should we not try to fight them by finding a cure or should we just… die? God is the creator of both good and evil but we know whats right. we know not to be evil and not to tolerate evil so don’t you dare try to misconstrue Ms. Baptiste and others of their natural instinct to defend themselves from evil, darkness, Situations where the human species wont benefit. In no way is ms baptiste or myself is suggesting to kill out the gays or annihilate all gays. The Gay community should take some responsibility themselves and censor their actions and influence on society for the benefit of the species. I am a smoker I am not proud of it but i am but because i value the life of others and the human species i never smoke in the sight of kids and i never encourage anyone to start smoking. that’s my humane responsibility as a smoker. makes no sense to kill the world to save yourself. something to think about.
