Vincentians athletes are yet to benefit from grants that were supposed to help prepare them adequately for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

To date, athletes selected to represent St. Vincent and the Grenadines are yet to receive financial assistance to help in training and competitions that would have prepared them for this major championships.

The question is, where were the monies sent from the governing body, IAAF, used?

It certainly has not been used for athlete’s development.

    1. If any financial assistance was received it probably would not be from the IAAF for this particular event.Funding would more than likely come from the IOC. The local governing body representing the IOC is responsible for the Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games, Olympic Games. The individual local governing bodies for the respect sports select their teams and the overall operations is done by the local IOC rep.
