Meanwhile, police said in their bulletin on Monday that five persons were shot in the incident at Glen around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, in which two persons died.

Initial reports were that four persons were shot.

Dead are Recardo Haynes and Grafton Richards. Police say both men were playing dominoes at Richards’ shop when two masked men opened fire at them.

They sustained several gunshot wounds about their bodies and later died.

Postmortem examinations are expected to be performed on the bodies.

Three other persons were injured in the incident and were up to Monday still in hospital, police say.

The death in Glen follows on the shooting one week earlier of Prak Hill farmer 64-year-old Charles Ryan, who died after being shot on his way home on Aug. 22.

  1. Good thing, smoke them out. I would like to see random road blocks set up where people and vehicles are searched. Even homes should be searched randomly.

    1. Easy Mourine, easy!
      Back off those crazy pills.
You are advocating random invasion of people’s privacy?
Where do you live? How would like to be woken up at 05:00hrs in the morning to be told that your house was about to be searched for weapons?
This has to be an intelligence led strategy
I understand that you got excited and a bit of passion is a good thing but you really need to take it down a notch.

      There is another way.

  2. james the lion monroe says:

Quebec has a population of 7 million people, and we don’t have half of the murders that svg have, and the year is not even over, god help us. They say not to blame the govt, but if 28 people were to die from guns or gang violence, and the minister of defence couldn’t curb the violence. we would have mass protest in the streets demandind his/her resignation, I love my svg, but at the same time, i’m glad i’m living in Quebec, even though it’s not perfect, we have language issues, but it’s still a safe place to live, relatively.

  3. I see that we are competing for the title of “country with highest murder rate”
I don’t live in SVG so there may be lots that I do not know.
So can someone please let me know what is being done to counter this sad state of affairs?
Why is everyone not up in arms about this?
This is a very serious issue that needs to have a strategic solution or else we run the risk of becoming a no go area.
Is this something that is only troubling a particular community or is anyone in SVG at risk of being shot if they venture out?
I would really like a sensible, non-political view point

    There is another way.

  4. DFP whoever you are, if someone for you is murdered you would want answers yesterday, not tomorrow, next week or next month.

A vigilante group must have intelengence before they can make a make, this goes without saying.

Why does it matter where I live? The problem of crime this magnitude in a 2×2 country is cause for alarm Mr./Ms PFD. This is not the time to hold brakes.

The time is now to act.

    1. I bow at your superior “intelligence”!
Certainly that is one way to go.
Hang them all and hand them high; that is of course, until the hang man starts hanging innocent people.
Stop every car; search every house, regardless of the knowledge on the occupants of said edifice.

      So where shall we start?
      Maybe the priest?
Maybe the Prime minister’s house is a prime target?
Why don’t you volunteer your house for a search?

      Mourine, do me one favour;
Look in the mirror while engaging in these rants.
Do your eyes sparkle? Does your skin twitch?
      Does your breathing become heavier?
That’s right my friend, you are deranged!
