Former government senator Andrea Young-Lewis has taken up duties as Registrar of the High Court, effective Nov. 1.
Young-Lewis was a senator for the Ruling Unity Labour Party from 2001 to 2005.
She was Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly from 2001-2003 and Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Transport, Works and Housing from 2003-2005.
Young replaces Tamara Gibson-Marks, who was last month fined EC$10,500 on theft and abuse of authority charges.
Gibson-Marks was asked to resign in May. She is also facing disbarment .
