Dear Editor, I write in response to an article in the Jan.23, 2015 issue of the Vincentian newspaper, titled “What Islam teaches”. My article is a comparative analysis of what it claims Islam teaches to what Christianity teaches.
According to the author, “Islam teaches that the Supreme Being is only one … the word Allah means the one and only universal God…”. Now if Allah is one God then he should say “I or ME” alone but he uses the pronoun “We” when he refers to his creative ability. Who is this “We” referred to in the Qur’an? Sura 37:11 says, “Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the [other] beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay!” Also, in Sura 37: 150 it says, “Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses [thereto]?” These two verses in the Quran clearly show that Allah is not numerically one God.
In the Holy Bible, God is explained as NUMERICALLY ONE . “Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one” Galatians 5:7. “And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, the first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The LORD our God is one LORD” Mark 12:28-29.
Islam teaches that, “God Almighty is called Allah in the Holy Quran”. When God declared His name to the patriarch and prophets of old He identified Himself as Yahweh not Allah. “I am the LORD (YAHWEH): that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” Isaiah 42:8 (emphasis supplied). “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD (YAHWEH) God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.” Exodus 3:14, 15. This clearly shows that true name of God is Yahweh, often written as LORD. Forever, Yahweh is his eternal name, his memorial, and the name we are to remember him by unto the final generation. This also means that Yahweh could not have changed his name in the seventh century to Allah. “And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH (YAHWEH) was I not known to them”. Exodus 6:2,3. Yahweh was known by El Shaddai but now he is known by his personal name Yahweh. This is the name to be remembered by for all generations. Thus his name is Yahweh and NEVER Allah. “Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial”-Hosea 12:5. Yahweh repeats in Hosea His memorial name Yahweh and not Allah. The Hebrew translation for JEHOVAH is Yahweh and not Allah. “הָיהוַו ieue – Yahweh”- Exodus 6:6. The Hebrew translation for the LORD “הָיהוַו ieue Yahweh”- Hosea 12:6 according to scripture4all Interlinear Scripture Analyzer.
The author of the article above said this of Allah, “he does not dwell in any of his creation…”, yet the Quran says in Sura 2:115 that Allah is all pervading- into every part of creation. “To Allah belong the east and the West: Whithersoever ye turn; there is the presence of Allah. For Allah is all-Pervading, all-Knowing”. This is a contradiction. Since Allah is all pervading but does not dwell in his creation, this would imply that wherever he dwells in is eternal like him because it is not his creation. What confusion!
However, Jesus is Yahweh in the temple of flesh, “… God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself…” 2 Corinthians 5:19. “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servants whom I have chosen; that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no god formed, neither shall there be after me. I even I am the LORD and beside me there is no savior. Isaiah 43:10, 11. “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21. The very name of Jesus (or Yeshua) means Saviour– Yahweh Saviour). Are there two Saviours? No, only one and the fact that he dwells in His creation does not take away His divinity; he does not lose his God-ness by dwelling in his creation, because he is God. In fact, He is not afraid of his creation even though it is in sin. Based on the analysis I conclude:
- The name of true God is Yahweh
- Yahweh is Numerically One
- Yahweh is His memorial name unto all generations and never Allah
- Yahweh dwells in his creation and this does not take away his God-ness or divinity.
Therefore Yahweh and Allah are not one and the same.

You do know, I hope, that “Allah” is not a name. It is merely the English transliteration of the Arabic word “al ilah” that means literally, in English, “The God”. “al” at the start of any English word derived from Arabic is almost certainly “the” as in alcohol (al khol), algebra (al jebr), algorithm (al Khawarazmi through late Latin algorismus), alchemy (al kimia) and so on. The first part of the Muslim declaration of faith is, “There is no god but God” – in Arabic, using European letters (Arabic letters are different), “l? ?il?ha ?ill?-ll?h”
Go to Wikipedia and under the term “Allah” you will find the following etymology (the study of the origins of words)
‘The term All?h is derived from a contraction of the Arabic definite article al- “the” and il?h “deity, god” to al-l?h meaning “the [sole] deity, God” (? ???? ?????, ho theos monos).[15] Cognates of the name “All?h” exist in other Semitic languages, including Hebrew and Aramaic.[16] The corresponding Aramaic form is Elah (???), but its emphatic state is Elaha (????). It is written as ??l?h? in Biblical Aramaic and ?Alâhâ in Syriac as used by the Assyrian Church, both meaning simply “God”.[17] Biblical Hebrew mostly uses the plural (but functional singular) form Elohim (?????), but more rarely it also uses the singular form Eloah (?????).
The name was previously used by pagan Meccans as a reference to a creator deity, possibly the supreme deity in pre-Islamic Arabia.[19][20] The concepts associated with the term Allah (as a deity) differ among religious traditions. In pre-Islamic Arabia amongst pagan Arabs, Allah was not considered the sole divinity, having associates and companions, sons and daughtersa concept that was deleted under the process of Islamization. In Islam, the name Allah is the supreme and all-comprehensive divine name, and all other divine names are believed to refer back to Allah.[21] Allah is unique, the only Deity, creator of the universe and omnipotent.[9][10] Arab Christians today use terms such as All?h al-Ab (???? ????, ‘God the Father’) to distinguish their usage from Muslim usage.[22] There are both similarities and differences between the concept of God as portrayed in the Quran and the Hebrew Bible.[23]
The inherit dotishness of religion; every religion thinks their God is the one true God…Allah,Yahweh Buddha and Hail Selassie is the SAME GOD…DEPENDING ON WHO YOU ASK.
Suppose I say that the only one true god is the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Who are you to tell me I’m wrong? What makes the Holy Bible anymore authoritative than the Holy Koran? Who decides these things? How? The same way the Christian God talks to you is the same way the Muslim god talks to Abdul. Who is to say which is the legitimate god? Why can’t we just live and let live and stop all this foolish religious competition? You know what, this just made me tired…lemme stop here.

Whether The Name Of The Only One True Creator Is Yehweh Or Yehwah And The Hundred-Percent Completely Accurate Proper Name Of The The Only One True Creator Is IEUE-YEHWEH But Jehweh And Jehoweh Is Anglicized Version of Yehweh.
