Vincentian sprinter Kineke Alexander, the National Sports Council’s Female Athlete of the Year 2014 and Team Athletics SVG’s Athlete of the Year 2014 has started her 2015 track season in sensational form.

On Jan. 24 at the Lobo Collegiate Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Alexander posted two world-leading times in the 400m and the 200m. She ran times of 52.66 seconds in the 400m and 23.33 seconds in the 200m, breaking the national indoor record of 23.54 seconds, which was set two years ago.

On Feb. 6 at the 2015 Aggie Invitational in College Station, Texas she again ran to a new season best on the way to winning both the 400m and 200m, in times 52.46 seconds and 23.42 seconds.

At the Tyson Invitational in Arkansas, on the weekend, Alexander once again firmly established her dominance as SVG’s top female athlete by winning the sprint double and ramping home to another season best in the 400m and a New National Indoor Record in the 200m.

On Friday, she won the 400m in a season’s best of 52.20 seconds and returned on Saturday to claim the 200m in a time of 23.24 seconds, firmly cementing her dominance and setting a NEW National Indoor Record in the process by shaving 0.09secs off the old mark of 23.33secs.

Alexander moves on to two professional meets in Europe. First in Stockholm where she will contest the 200m on Thursday and then to Birmingham where she will run the 400m on the Saturday.
