Member of Parliament for Central Kingstown St. Clair Leacock says persons who don’t want their rape history listed should “leave me and my wreath alone”.

Leacock made the statement Saturday night in response to persons who have spoken on radio about an incident in which he retrieved steel frame from wreaths two months ago.

“I have been in politics for over 15 years, and I am tired of Hekeziah (sic) bad; how much cheque bounce; how much this that; how much wreath yo’ thief. Well, is better yo’ thief wreath than rape,” he said to loud cheers in Sion Hill at the launch of the New Democratic Party’s election campaign.

“It is better to thief a wreath than to rape. And if people don’t want a list of their rape history, leave me and my wreath alone,” Leacock said.

“As a matter of fact, I was up in the Quarry a few weeks ago with Mr. Eustace, and one of them ask me, ‘Leacock, wha’ yo do with the wreath?’ Ah say, ‘Ah put it pon yo mammy grave.’

“Mr. Eustace doh like to hear them things. Leh me geh back to politics,” Leacock said in reference to NDP president and Leader of the Opposition Arnhim Eustace.

Leacock told I-Witness News in March that he had retrieved on behalf of his wife from the Obelisk at Dorsetshire Hill the steel frame for wreaths she had made for National Hero’s Day.

He said the steel frames are difficult to make and his wife recycles them.

Leacock told I-Witness News that he retrieved the frames four days after the ceremony, by which time most of the frames were already discarded.

He told the rally that he could not see why the NDP cannot employ 100 persons in Central Kingstown immediately if it wins the next general elections, widely expected this year, ahead of the March 28, 2016 constitutional deadline.

The opposition lawmaker said some of these persons can be employed to repair or construct roads, drains and retaining walls.

He also promised that an NDP administration will build retaining walls and footpaths for citizens.

“Well, that ain’t so new you know, because we had the ‘gouti track thing in place before,” he said.

Leacock accused the Ralph Gonsalves government of using “unlawfully” monies from PetroCaribe, Venezuela’s oil-initiative with several Caribbean countries, to keep the Vincentian economy afloat.

“It is only because he is spending unlawfully, unlawfully, illegally the monies from the PetroCaribe Fund, which does not have the approval of the Parliament, why this country is still afloat. Had he not done that, we would have been on our face,” Leacock said.

He further told party supporters that the election is about a choice rather than a transition between leaders.

“This is an election, not a coronation. … We are not replacing King Gonsalves by Prince Camillo or whoever else to come,” he said.

“Where horse reach, donkey can reach, and in this crowd, anyone of you can be the next prime minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.”

Leacock said that his job as a vice-president of the NDP is to ensure that the party can deliver a better life for every Vincentian

“My first priority of the day as I see it and as I understand it, is for job, job, jobs for every single Vincentian. We must put this country to work and we can do it and we must to it, but we will do it in a different way,” he said.

  1. Dr. Dexter Lewis says:

Don’t fall for Ralph’s distractions. When we have all of his failures steering us in the face, he would want to distract us. He must.

Not even the rape accusations against Ralph can compare with his failures in Government.

  2. We need to not only assess people by their moral competence, but also by their mental competence. Who makes the comparison between rape and theft? I shudder to think of this idiot being involved in the law-making process. I think that our leaders should pass some sort of mental/ intellectual test (and I don’t mean having piles of degrees), before they are listed as eligible candidates for any seat.

    1. I’m also hoping that that was a stupidly empty threat. While I don’t think that rapists deserve any protection of anonymity, we need to protect victims from unwanted exposure. Ugh. So stupid that I need to say this.

  3. Wait a second. Am I missing something here, when Leacock says, “leave me and ME wreath alone…that he had retrieved on BEHALF of his wife…made for National hero’s Day… And where he further states that …”the steel frames are difficult to make and his wife recycles them?” Can someone explain what the hell is going on here? Duh!

    1. Well it’s very simple, we all know from the past that you are a moron, but here is the answer to your silly question.

When wreaths have sat for three days in the sun they have gone beyond wilting and are in a state of decomposing. They become ugly and an eyesore, to leave them in place is an insult to the original reason that they were placed or laid.

All those wreaths are thrown away and disposed of as waste. What has happened the frames that the foliage and flowers are attached to are usually thrown away and are scrap.

So someone has salvaged the wreath frame, there is nothing wrong with that, and in fact is in line with Green Party policy. Ask Ivan O’Niel he will tell you that whoever recycles waste in this world deserves a medal.

Trying to make political points from this sterling recycling process just shows how the minds of you Marxist scum bags think about private enterprise. Because that is what this is about, entrepreneurship verses Marxist scumship.

Perhaps if this had been done by a branch of the Kingstown Marxist corporation Solidarity Inc, it would be OK. Or by of a member of the pretend Labour Party the Unity Marxist Party, that also would have been OK.

I know it’s your paid job to try and destroy capitalism and entrepreneurship. I know it’s your actual profession to try and destroy the opposition party with lies and spite. By using a mirror image of what your leader does, trying to make right wrong and wrong right, whichever at the times suits your idiotic pursuit of those who besides being many time your superior are hounded by you and your evil mentors.

  4. According to the World Health Organization [WHO] Sexual violence is defined as: any sexual act, attempt to obtain a sexual act, unwanted sexual comments or advances, or acts to traffic, or otherwise directed, against a person’s sexuality using coercion, by any person regardless of their relationship to the victim, in any setting, including but not limited to home and work.

    http://www.who.int/violence_injury_prevention/violence/global_campaign/en/chap6.pdf

Read the whole Report, it may better make you understand why anyone accused of rape or a sexual crime should face a court, letting a court decide if there is any case to answer, if the court decides there is a case to answer the case should proceed before a jury and should be heard in full.

For a DPP to disallow the initial hearing of a case before a court has the opportunity to rule no case or a case to answer, can be little more than interference with the rule of law and may even be viewed as changing the course of natural justice. Such interference prior to an initial court hearing by a DPP even if he has the power to do so must be both morally and humanistically wrong and brings a kind of indecency into the post of Director of Public Prosecutions.

    Lewis,
I wrote an article about some Vincentian’s having a ” Donkey Cart Mentality “. Lewis you fit the bill to a ” T” .
You have no clue about human beings, life or politics, all you know is what you can get, and from whom.
You are selfish, and self-centered, don’t you know that there is two side to everything politics , and you, included.
When you write these statement, please explain what you are talking about, and not be like a crying baby who lost his toy, who sees his and everyone else’s life through his eyes and only his.
So explain what distractions is there, and what failures you are talking about.
But before you do that please take the beam out of your eyes before you take the spec out of someone else’s eyes.
Lewis, your article to my eyes is a distraction, and a failure.
    Remember, always two ( 2 ) sides.

    Regards,

    1. Luther Bonadie says:

      Peter,

You are a work of art, It’s a pity St. Vincent don’t horse whip people.
      Surly I’ll horse whip you.

I agree with you, the outside world does know more about what’s going on in St. Vincent than Vincentians.
One thing they know is that St. Vincent have a lot of people with ” Donkey Cart Mentalities”

      Good Stuff

      1. Are you suggesting that we bury the past bury the truth, is that what you are calling donkey cart mentality.

Your comment is akin to a Satanic exclamation regarding yourself and those like you who are little more than donkey’s doo doo’s. Sorry had to stop using profanities when dealing with people like you, Kenton quite rightly doesn’t like it or allow it.

  6. How people here always go into defense mode anytime the word rape is being mention here? Whoever is trying to deflect from that must be doing the same thing, nasty men you all are. you all should be ashame. I saw it a bunch of nasty worthless men, men 20 to 50 having sex with 12 to 18 years that rape. You have over night politician owning multiple vehicles and houses for themselves and their family and we here talking bout a man taking some wires. No wander the country is falling apart and now rank above only Haiti as the poorest country in the Caribbea.

  7. Adiel Reece says:

The only thing Mr Leacok has ever done for this country is to ship out our young men to Europe to live on the Streets, playing a Game we black people will never be able to dominate, They are trying to damn the young black boys of this country to starvation in Europe.

    1. What a nasty stupid person you are. Thank God that the UK the US and Canada are taking our youth, we cannot employ them or feed them at home.

What is more if you look at the success that our Diaspora holds, generated wealth and property ownership, decent wages and decent pensions. Many come home millionairs, at the worst able to retire comfortably.

All those people also are the only thing that is puting food on the table for SVG’s old folk.

You are obviously sick to make such a statement.

  8. And those same boys who are living on the streets of Europe still think that it is better to starve there than to come back home to SVG where things are so glorious. Why don’t they just come back home and join the rest and just beg beg beg?

  9. petergriffin says:

A lot of us need to spend more time discussing matters that will make our country more progressive and help our young school leavers more hopeful of finding more gainful employment after studying so hard in school.Mr Vinciman there are many person who took more than an old wreath. They were broke before ULP took office and now they own the most houses and vehicles. Please explain that. What kind of moral values are some of you talking about?Does the prime minister who many of you worship have any moral decency in him?You all really need a serious horse whipping to bring you all back to your senses so that one man can stop have you on strings like a puppet..Adiel Reece please check out and weigh the contributions to the development of SVG made by Leacock and by Ralph Gonsalves before he tricked Vincent Beache whom he called a coconut bat.
