A magnitude 4.7 earthquake with epicentre 64 kilometres east of Castries, St Lucia was reported to be felt 132 kilometres away in Kingstown, St Vincent on Thursday.
Information generated by the Seismic Research Centre, at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad, says that 10.16 a.m., local time, an earthquake occurred at latitude 14.01 north and longitude 60.40 west, or 64 kilometres to the east of Castries, St Lucia.
The earthquake was registered on the magnitude scale as 4.7 at a depth of 21 kilometres, the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) said.
NEMO said it has received several calls from persons in various areas places in St Vincent who reported that they felt the earthquake.
There was no threat of a tsunami given the size of the earthquake, NEMO said.
There has been no reported damage from the earthquake in St Vincent and the Grenadines, NEMO said.
