COMBER, Northern Ireland — A large selection of new youth cricket and football equipment valued at approximately EC$10,000 has been received by the Consulate of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) to Northern Ireland following a donation initiative started by Christopher Stange, honorary consul for SVG to Northern Ireland.

The donations are from individuals, businesses, and supporters of SVG, including Podium 4 Sport, various sporting clubs across Northern Ireland and Granshaw Presbyterian Church. Shipping has been arranged by Geest Line, Winfresh, Ewings Shipping Ltd. and All Route Shipping Ltd.

The new equipment has been marked for youths aged 12-17 in SVG, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade, Commerce and Informational Technology; Ministry of Tourism, Sport and Culture; and Ministry of National Mobilisation and Youth, as there is a demand and need for these by individuals, particularly in rural areas.

Arrangements are being made for transport to Kingstown and disbursement through the National Sports Council of SVG and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“On behalf of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all stakeholders for their generosity, which correlates with our Government’s strong commitment towards health, wellness and engaging the youth, which cricket and football provides an important medium,” Stange said.
