Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves has named 14 more Vincentians as sporting and cultural ambassadors.

He named the persons during his Independence Address at Victoria Park on Tuesday.

They will have the privilege, among other things, of carrying a diplomatic passport.

“This group of ambassadors are persons of merit and quality who have distinguished themselves in the fields of culture and sports, Gonsalves said.

The new sporting and cultural ambassadors are:

In sports: Lance John (cricket), Ezra Hendrickson and Marlon James (football), Esther Robinson, Stella Winsboro, Peggy Hull, Stella Boyea and Gailene Windsor (netball), and Adonal Foyle (basketball).

In culture: Wollis Christopher, James “Jamesy P” Morgan, Carlton “CP” Hall, Olson “Caribbean Pete” Peters — all in the area of popular music (soca and/or calypso) and Bridgette Blucher (gospel music).
