Four Black Sands Swim Squad swimmers represented their club and country well on the weekend, competing in the Titans Invitational swim meet in Barbados from Oct. 23 to 25.

Shné Joachim swam herself into the Barbados record books by smashing 5 meet records and finishing the competition with a total of 5 gold and 2 silver medals.

Swimming five personal best times, Shane Cadogan came home with 3 silver and 4 bronze medals and Shné’s younger brother, Alex Joachim, also got onto the podium, collecting 1 bronze medal followed by 6 outstanding personal best times.

Cruz Halbich managed 3 fourth places at the meet, swimming in the tough 13 to 14yrs age group with Cadogan.

The swimmers are only one week away from the 2015 OECS swimming championships, to be held in Antigua.

Black Sands Swim Squad and National coach Kyle Dougan says they are predicting that the Vincentian swimmers will claim more medals and records at these championships.
