The recordings purportedly of a senior Unity Labour Party (ULP) official having “phone sex” with a significantly younger female are not part of the New Democratic Party’s (NDP) campaign for the Dec. 9 general election.

Maia Eustace, daughter of the Leader of the Opposition Arnhim Eustace, also said Sunday night that the elections are about four core issue: corruption, crime, the treatment of women in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and joblessness.
At the New Democratic Party rally in Walvaroo, East Kingstown, which her father has been representing since 1998, Ms Eustace encouraged NDP supporters to register to vote.
“I’m asking you please, stay focused, get to the polls. Elections are won and lost on election day,” she said.
“On the point of staying focus, we also have to stay on message,” she said.
“Where is a sex tape? Is that part of your message? It can never, ever be. The NDP is going to win this election on the issues, and nothing else,” Eustace said.
“And let me say something about that. There is a woman named Madonna Barbour, whose name has been called relentlessly. Madonna Barbour has never courted the press, she has never courted publicity, she has never mounted a platform.
“She has only worked hard to provide for her children. And she is a good mother. Do not allow anybody to use that woman’s name in furtherance of a ridiculous theory about how a sex tape came to be released.
“My back broad; bring it on me,” said Eustace, a lawyer.
“I had nothing to do with it, but try your best. Find your evidence. They have two courts in St. Vincent and the Grenadines: the Court of Justice, we all know where that’s located; and the court of public opinion,” Eustace said.
The NDP has remained largely silent on the sex tapes.
The ULP has been making explicit and other attempts to do what some persons have described as damaged control after the tapes began circulating on social media.
Some ULP operatives have said that the voice on the sex tape is not the ULP official, although they are strikingly similar.
As soon as the NDP name was mentioned or inferred about any involvement with this sex tape; an immediate, unequivocal denouncement should have been issued by the Leader of the Party or PRO. Once again, the strategy of the NDP seem lacking and reactive. But better late than never.
By the way, does Ms Mia Eustace have an official status within the NDP? Mm
