Vincentian fashion brand Peta Odini, the label owned and operated by Odini Sutherland launched the first phase of its online store offering last Friday.

The e-commerce platform called the Peta Odini Print Shop offers customers around the world the opportunity to purchase all of the designer’s prints from her Animal Farm series, which include the popular Rasta Lion print as well as the Amazona print, which is based on the national bird of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The prints, which were the result of late night doodling, seemed to have gained popularity overnight and have been sought after across the region and in the United States, Sutherland said.

The shop, which features t-shirts, tank tops as well as baby and children apparel, is powered by a third party supplier based in the United States. All items feature prints, which were designed in the Caribbean but the actual products are printed and shipped from the United States.

The designer said the second phase of the project will be to make Peta Odini apparel, which will be designed and manufactured in St. Vincent, available online for purchase. This phase of the project will hopefully be completed within the next six months once all logistics are worked out with local courier services and manufacturing portals to make sure that orders can be fulfilled in an efficient manner, Sutherland said.

The Peta Odini Print Shop can be visited at print.petaodini.com and offers secure online payment options via PayPal, which also allows the use of debit and credit cards.

Peta Odini is also available for direct purchase in Trinidad at Exhibit A, which is the boutique store by Project Runway winner Anya Ayoung-Chee, in Barbados at the newly opened Triba Shop in the Norman Centre in Bridgetown, AK Couture Boutique in Brooklyn, New York and in St. Vincent at the Kimya Glasgow Boutique in the Kingstown Cruise Ship Terminal.

Sutherland said she hopes to extend her range of stockists within the region in the coming months as part of her long-term goal of taking not only her brand but also St. Vincent & the Grenadines into new markets, which may have never thought of the island as a source for creative, quality apparel.
