The Rotary Club of St. Vincent will hold a Dyslexia Awareness Walk on May 8 (Mother’s Day) to raise awareness about dyslexia, empower families to support their children and inform policy-makers on best practices to identify and support students with dyslexia.

Dyslexia is a well-recognised and accepted condition. However, in St. Vincent and the Grenadines we are still in the early stages of increasing our awareness and acceptance of this misunderstood condition, the Rotary Club said.

The problems displayed by individuals with dyslexia involve difficulties in acquiring and using written language. Early identification is the key to helping individuals with dyslexia achieve in school and in life.

The walk begins at 6:30 a.m. at the Arnos Vale sporting Complex and ends at the Grassroots Tennis Court on Murray’s Road.

The registration fee is $30 (**Includes T-shirt + bottle of Tus-T water + Vitamalt + Water proof mobile phone pouch compliments OSV + Useful information on dyslexia)
