The Vincentian cop who fled St. Vincent and the Grenadines in early 2013 amidst an investigation into reports that he had sexually assaulted his 8-year-old daughter has been nabbed in the United States.
The cop, who is said to have infected the child with the sexually transmitted disease gonorrhea, will be repatriated to his homeland to answer charges of sexual assault, incest, and indecent assault, a well-placed source has told iWitness News.
The source said the Vincentian police officer is in the custody of U.S. Marshalls.
Authorities in the United States have agreed to deport him back to SVG, after prosecutors in Kingstown successfully argued for his extradition.
iWitness News understands that prosecutors in Kingstown have also charged a relative of the child with obstruction of justice after the relative reportedly withheld the minor from the relevant state authorities.
The cop, who was assigned to the Special Services Unit of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, fled amidst the investigation.
In February 2013, iWitness News asked then police chief, Keith Miller, how was it that the police officer had fled the state amidst the investigation.
“… sometimes, people have a way when they are investigating matters, they want to keep things under their belt, so to speak. Based on what the investigators said, they wanted to do the groundwork first, but it seems that word got out … and the policeman got word of that and he [fled],” Miller, who has since retired from the Police Force, told iWitness News back then.
“But I can let you know, every effort is being made to get him back to St. Vincent,” he further said.
Also in February 2013, a relative of the girl took to Facebook, claiming that the police officer is innocent.
The relative told political activist Clemroy Bert Francois via Facebook that the police officer’s trip to the United State was planned before the allegation against him surfaced.
“He is not running. His co-workers know where he is … and they know he had to go. So let’s see who wants to mess with me. … More of this and I’m doing what I have to,” the relative told Francois.

I would love to see the date that SVG requested assistance to have him returned.
Let’s see if this horse manure of a human being even he prison time because in this Country these things don’t seems to matter and if he serves a one-year sentence for this he can rejoin the Police force, he will fit right in.
