Two men were on Thursday brought before the Serious Offences Court in Kingstown charged with one count of attempted murder, four counts of robbery and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm.

The charges stemmed from a robbery at East Caribbean Metal Industries Ltd. at Campden Park Industrial Estate Monday night, where a female security guard was shot and a similar crime at East Caribbean Bottlers Inc. (Ju-c).

Lowmans Hill resident, Nigel Byron, 29, and his co-accused, 22-year-old Yosufu De Riggs, of Campden Park, were not required to plead to the indictable charges when they appeared before Chief Magistrate, Rechanne Browne-Matthias.

One reply on “Men accused of shooting security guard charged with attempted murder, robbery”

  1. In the photo they actually look quite proud of themselves when they arrived at court.

Mr Chance did you ask them to “smile please” when that photo was taken?

If not enter it into evidence prior to sentencing.
