A South Central Windward woman died Tuesday night after being stabbed, reportedly by a mentally ill man.

Avi-Donna McKenzie-Williams, 36, of Chapmans Village, has become the fifth resident of St. Vincent and the Grenadines whose death has been attributed to an attack by a person with a history of mental illness this year.

Police say that reports are that the deceased was approached by a young man who inflicted a wound to her neck in Chapmans around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday

She subsequently died.

Police say that they have in custody a young man who is assisting with their investigations.

Reports are that the suspect has a history of mental illness.

A postmortem examination is expected to performed on the body.

McKenzie-Williams’ death follows those of Pamela Williams of Kingstown Park,

Nicholas Layne of Edinboro, and Ronald and Avis Israel of Dasent Cottage, who were killed between Nov. 13 and 14.

Police have charged 18-year-old Jurani Baptiste of Sandy Bay with Williams murder and say he is their only suspect in the other killings.

Baptiste has a history of mental illness.

One reply on “Another killing by a person with history of mental illness in St. Vincent”

  1. Being “mentally ill” does not necessarily mean not know what you are doing is wrong or not understanding the consequences of one’s action. It all depends on the nature of the mental illness and the extent to which it affects behaviour and thinking.

Many psychopathic killers have been rightly executed because they we’re fully cognizant of the nature of their evil acts but carried them out regardless of this — even based of this — because they were consciously “compelled” to do so.
