The premier and Women’s Divisions of the 2017 National Club Championships will kick off this Sunday at the Victoria Park with a series of matches and the presentation of prizes for the 2016/17 Community Inter-League.
The action begins at 2:30 p.m. with 2016 women’s champions, Volcanoes taking on System 3 to be followed at 4:15 p.m. with a showdown between Avenues United and Greiggs FC with System 3 and Pride and Joy being joined in battle from 7:15 p.m. in the evening’s final game.
The evening’s activities will be split by the presentation of cash prizes and trophies to the winners in the Community Inter-League.
In addition, participants in both the goalkeepers coaching course and the Futsal training course will be handed their certificates.
Over 100 teams are taking part in the 2017 National Club Championships.
Twelve teams will contest the Premier Division, 32 in the First Division, four in the Female Division, 15 in the Under 10, 16 in the Under 15 and 24 in the Under 19.
Meanwhile, Roxdale and Camdonia Chelsea played to a 2-2 draw at the Campden Park Playing Field when action continued on Tuesday in the First Division of the 2017 National Club Championships.
On Wednesday, Jebelles FC and Awesome FC played to a 1-1 draw and Strike Force beat Besco Pasture 2-0.
And on Thursday, Largo Height beat Green Hill 3-0 with Emery Bailey, Jemore Bailey and Nicholas Ollivierre getting a goal each.
The competition will resume on Saturday and Layou U19 will meet Hill View U19 at Layou from 2 p.m. and the same two teams will battle in the Senior Division at the same venue from 4 p.m.
Saturday’s matches at the Victoria Park will see Volcanoes taking on Richmond Hill from 2 p.m. and this will be followed at 4 p.m. by RSVG Police and United Strikers. The final match will see Hope International taking on System 3 from 6 p.m.
The other matches on Saturday will see Green Hill U19 meeting Sion Hill U19 at Campden Park, Toni Store Jugglers taking on Roseans from 4 p.m. at the Campden Park Playing Field and Owia U19 taking on Sparta FC U19 at Brighton from 2 p.m. with the same two teams battling each other in the senior division from 4 p.m. Bequia United and Sharpes FC are also scheduled to meet on Saturday in Bequia at a time to be agreed on.
The action on Sunday sees North Leeward Predators U19 and Q-CESCO U19 meeting at Layou and at 4 p.m. North Leeward Predators and Q-CESCO meet from 4 p.m. at the same Venue the Layou Playing Field.
Camdonia Chelsea U19 Parkside Rollers U19 will face each other at the Campden Park Playing Field from 2 p.m. and Roxdale meet Parkside Rollerz from 4 p.m. also at the Campden Park Playing Field.
The Brighton Playing Field will host a clash between DESCO and 1998 Hillside on Sunday from 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. Brownstown will oppose SV United.
