The body of a male washed ashore in Diamond on Sunday evening.
Police have launched an investigation into the death of the yet unidentified person.
They are trying to determine if the body is that of a man who went missing while sea bathing at Rawacou on Friday — Independence Day.
A picnicker told iWitness News that the man disappeared while bathing at the beach, where a wedding was also taking place.
Rawacou, located in eastern St. Vincent, is a popular picnic area but is notorious for its unpredictable and dangerous currents.
A number of persons have drowned at the beach over the years, although the government has used boulders to create an artificial pool to make the beach safer for swimmers.
