Technical officials scheduled to officiate at the annual Inter Primary Schools Athletics Championships (IPSAC) and Inter Secondary Schools Athletics Championships (ISSAC) have been deemed ready for the challenge of working the designated eight days of competition over the next several weeks.
On Saturday, Team Athletics St. Vincent and the Grenadines (TASVG) two leading instructors, trained and certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), Woodrow Williams and Philcol Jeffers, conducted the training sessions for the officials at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex.
The technical officials were briefed on the new changes that have been made by the IAAF at its 2017 congress in London, and which would be introduced at this year’s edition of the ISSAC.
Williams and Jeffers said they feel confident that the participants understood the new regulations as well as the importance of ensuring that they provide athletes with the best opportunities for optimal performances over the days of competition.
IPSAC Heats begin this week, 21 (Zone A) and Feb. 22 (Zone B), continues on 28 February (Zone C) and March 1 (Zone D).
ISSAC Heats are scheduled for 7 (Girls) and March 8 (Boys).
IPSAC and ISSAC Finals are due on March 21 and 22, respectively.
All competitions are scheduled for the Arnos Vale Sports Complex
