A medical team from the Changhua Christian Hospital (CCH) in Taiwan is providing medical services at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH) from July 30 to Aug. 10.

There are eight members of the team.

Dr. Hsiao-Ling Kao is the team leader. The others are Dr. Peng-Hsiang Fang (neurosurgery), Dr. Keng-Chu Ke (nephrology), Dr. Hsiu-Hui Hsu (Chinese medicine), Ms. He-Man Shen (ER nurse), Ya-Hsin Lan (anesthesiology nurse), Kuang-Hua Chang (technician, medical imaging) and Yu-Chun Liang (biomedical engineer).

In 2010, MCMH and CCH were twined and since then, the cooperation and exchanges between the two hospitals have expanded and deepened significantly.

CCH not only sends its medical teams to visit MCMH every year but also provides different customised training programmes for the medical staff at MCMH.

Further, five medical staff members of MCMH will travel to Taiwan to visit CCH and attend workshops there later this year.

Dr. Kao said that the collaboration between MCMH and CCH has been enhanced in different fields each year.

CCH is convinced that the mutually beneficial relationship will be further strengthened and looks forward to continuing cooperation in the future, she said.

During their stay in Kingstown, the medical team will work closely with the doctors, nurses, and staff at the MCMH.

Dr. Kao expressed appreciation for the support of the Ministry of Health and MCMH.

She said that each member is very glad to have such an opportunity to visit St. Vincent and the Grenadines and provide medical services.
