Unstable conditions associated with the passage of a tropical wave that resulted in heavy showers and thunderstorm Tuesday night are expected to continue to affect St. Vincent and the Grenadines into Friday.
The weather system dumped 47 millimetres (1.85 inches) of rain on the islands during the 24 hours ending 6 a.m. Wednesday.
The unstable condition pushed the mercury down to 21.3 degrees Celsius overnight, according to the 6 a.m. weather bulletin from the SVG Met Services on Wednesday.
Generally cloudy conditions with occasional strong gusts along with thunderstorm activity are expected across St. Vincent and the Grenadines today, Wednesday.
Unstable conditions with showers are expected to linger into Friday.
Forecasters are urging residents and motorists in mountainous areas, near rivers, streams and low lying areas to be prepared as rainfall accumulations over the next couple of days may trigger flooding and land slippage.
