By Nolan Dallaway

I was promoted to the rank of Inspector of Police on Dec. 31, 2018.

I must first give thanks and praise to the Almighty God for His divine protection. I am very aware that without God, I am not able, nor would it have been possible to survive 13 years in the constabulary of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force and to attain the rank of inspector.

I am elated to function in this capacity and I promise to continue to be enthusiastic and effective.

My success and accomplishments throughout my policing career did not happen by chance or magic. I take pride in saying that I have worked diligently and with the input of several significant individuals and units. They have influenced and supported my constant quest for excellence in service to, and protection of the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

It is with heartfelt appreciation that I say thanks to the Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioners, officers at the Rapid Response Unit and other officers and ranks of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force for being supportive throughout the years.

A special thank you to SOP Timothy Hazlewood, Supervisor of the RRU for his encouragement. ASP Scott who has been my mentor while at the Narcotics Unit and for his continued guidance; Mr. Adolphus Delplesche, Senior Prosecutor, for his encouragement and inspiration always. I have learnt a lot while attending the Serious Officers Court.

To my mother, thanks for raising a son with a heart to protect and serve. To my wife and three beautiful children, none of this would have been possible without your love and support. To my other family members, your understanding cannot be measured. You have all made a difference in my life, thank you.
