A preliminary investigation by the leadership of the Union Island Secondary School has found “that there may be some truth” in the allegations that a teacher showed pornographic material to students.

The incident is said to have taken place during school hours in the school’s science laboratory, last month.

The leadership of the school, in a letter to the Ministry of Education, the staff of the school, and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers’ Union, recommended that the teacher “should minimise his contact with students until a determination on this matter is finalised”.

As a result, the leadership of the school said that a planned school trip, slated for next week, should go ahead with a different staff member accompanying the students.

The letter said that parents, at two parent-teacher association meetings in December, expressed “grave concern” about the matter.

2 replies on “Teacher ‘should minimise his contact’ with students he allegedly showed porn”

  1. The teacher should be home for this alleged dotishness on paid leave, until the investigation is complete.

And if there is truth in this mêlée, then the teacher ought to be fired.

  2. Talk about poor judgment, But since it is the man/ woman life we are talking about, exactly what pornographic material are you talking about? We all know that teenagers are fully aware of their sexuality and sexual intercourse and the consequences. Sex education is a must these days but, I hardly believe that showing pornography to teens is appropriate. No self-respecting teacher/mentor would do such a thing.
