A man to whom the High Court recently granted bail on a burglary charge was shot and killed by an unknown assailant in Kingstown on Wednesday.
The man, 19-year-old Darren Davy, also known as “Precious”, of Pole Yard, Arnos Vale, was shot in the vicinity of the BRAGSA office on Lower Bay Street around 1:35 a.m. police said.
He was killed hours before the Court of Appeal would deny his father, Aaron John, a reduction in his four-year sentence for beating his girlfriend, while she had a restraining order against him.
Police said Davy was shot to the left side of his face by some unknown assailant.
He was rushed to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
The Police are advising anyone with vital information that will aid with the investigation and the prosecution of the offender(s) in this case, to contact the Assistant Commissioner in charge Crimes at 1784-456-1339, the officer in charge of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 1784-456-1810 or through any other police outlet with which they are comfortable.
A post mortem is scheduled to be conducted on Davy’s body, and police say their investigations continue.Davy’s death could be classified as the second murder in St. Vincent and the Grenadines this year.
Wow like father like son, the sins of the father may have done him in but RIP.
If my count is accurate, this may be only the second murder this year, surely two too many, but way below the numbers in recent years.
Let us all, of whatever political party or ideological persuasion, rejoice that our murder rate is so low so far and do whatever we can on an individual level to alert the police when we have any suspicion that a murder or other serious crime is about to take place.

In any bail conditions, I can definitely assumed that you’re supposed to be in your home at 7pm to 7am. Why was he on the road at that time in the morning?
