A prisoner is expected to appear in court today, Wednesday, charged with possession of a prohibited item in connection with a cell phone that reportedly fell to the ground when he was told to squat in prison last week.

The man, Iso Lynch, of Layou, is serving a sentence for deception.

The cell phone that police reportedly retrieved from him is among 14 or so found during a search of cells at Her Majesty’s Prison in Kingstown, sources tell iWitness News.

iWitness News understands that the search, which was conducted by officers from the Rapid Response Unit of the Police Force, was ordered because of threats reportedly originating from within the prison walls.

Sources say that judicial officers have been among the subjects these threats.

That it fell to the ground when he was told to squat suggests that it was hidden where the sun don’t shine. Either it was a miniature cell phone or this many has a h-u-g-e batty hole!

problem is how do you fingerprint the phones when they have been hidden in the anus area? Just wondering if the area has a special one off print like a finger print?
