A 36-year-old Mt Pleasant man has been slapped with four indictable charges in connection with the alleged shooting of a 52-year-old female villager in the right leg with a shotgun.

Lesroy Richardson, appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Monday, where Chief Magistrate, Rechanne Browne, read to him a charge that last Friday, Sept. 6, at Mt Pleasant, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Maxcintha McKie with intent so to do.

He was further charged that on the same date and place, he had in his possession one black Mossdery 12 gauge shotgun, serial number J-747372, without a licence issued under the Firearm Act; that he had one round of 12 gauge ammunition without a licence, and that he had, in his possession, a 12 gauge firearm to endanger McKie’s life.

Richardson, who was represented by lawyer Ronald “Ronnie” Marks, was not required to plead to the indictable charges.

Senior prosecutor Adolphus Delplesche did not object to bail for Richardson although McKie was still in hospital.

Delplesche told the court that the woman’s injures did not pose a threat to her life, although it was a threat to her limb.

The chief magistrate granted Richardson composite bail in the sum of EC$15,000 with one surety.

She further ordered him to have no contact with McKie, surrender his travel documents, and seek the permission of the court to leave the state.

Browne also ordered Richardson to report to the Mesopotamia Police Station on Mondays and Thursdays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The matter was adjourned to Dec. 12, 2019.

Richardson was able to meet the bail conditions and left the court around 1 p.m. Monday.

  1. Gunslingers gunslinger where you get you gun from
Me get it from the Don manufacturered by uncle Tom
So what you is your intenton soldier man
To shoot anyone who abort my plan.

See I am now a calypsonian

  2. What did this woman do […] to deserve such a callous foolish act and where are all these guns in Vincy really coming from seeing that we don’t make guns here. A mandatory sentence of at least 10 years with one additional month for every round of ammunition( to run consecutively) should be given to each person convicted of having an illegal firearm in their possession.

  3. So people you see how this country is messed up people shooting people and killing and raping getting bail on small sum of noney but they caught you with wat was founded on Solomon grave they give u 150years

  4. Delplesche you got to be kidding. How the hell do you know he didn’t intend to kill the woman? Maybe the court is the problem the crime increase in SVG. There should be no bail for this person because he may go out there and do the same thing again. He should be sent to jail for 15 to 20 years for processing the gun and the ammunition and shooting the woman with intent to kill.
It now appears that the court and the legal system are definitely responsible for the outlandish crime increase in SVG. Put his arse in jail until the case comes before a judge. His time in jail can be reduced because of time served.

  5. I hope that things work in your favor. What’s going to happen to your pickney dem now. Why you shoot she so? Your life was suppose to be better back home. I hope they give you leeway and you do better.

  6. taking the law into your own hands is not a thing anyone must do please think of the consequences before you act. you have to pay these rich lawyers alot of money and you are going to jail in the end.out of money and doing hard time think
