  1. It is refreshing when politicians emphasise the importance of unifying the people to promote peace and prosperity. For the past two decades the key politicians have been promoting antagonism, division, animosity and poverty. No matter what the other policy decisions may be, a country cannot prosper under such principals; not even when they attach “love” onto what is actually hate. Greed, corruption, playing favorites, selfishness will eventually always cause destructive results. Our present Prime Minister puts a false mask his administration’s goals when enough people have taken notice that total power for the few is the real goal. One commenter mentioned that the Governor General he chose is a big Gonsalves supporter. She may be a good woman but if there is ANY QUESTION AT ALL as to the outcome of the next election it is blatantly obvious who the decision will favor. We already see where the courts decision’s will go on any political cases.
    If by some miracle the NDP is able to overcome all the power the ULP has gained over the election process and the entire system of Saint Vincent, all these officials that are blatant ULP supporters will do everything to insure that the Gonsalves ULP will exercise great control for a long time to come.
    We have a tremendous flaw in Vincentian Society:
    We care more about our political affiliation than we do our country.

    The ULP has undeniably promoted “Party before country”.
    Too many in the ULP have been emphasising that the NDP is bad, ULP is “good” If you support the ULP you get far better treatment than if you do not, in the Courts, Customs, Agriculture, by the Police, etc…

    If the leader of the NDP is truely able to unify the country under the banner of being “Vincentian” rather than being NDP or ULP it will be a breath of fresh air not seen for a lifetime in this country!

  2. One note with interest, that of all days that are available to it, The NDP has chosen the “Christian Sabbath day” to host its 41st annual convention. Why may one ask? Why not any other day other than the Christian Sabbath? Have they not read the following?

    “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it”. As is expressed at;

    Exodus 20 New King James Version (NKJV) The Ten Commandments
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus+20&version=NKJV

    And at the following:
    Romans 3: V. 8, “And why not say, “Let us do evil that good may come”?—as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say. Their condemnation is just.” And at;
    Romans 3: V. 31, “Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.”

    We would point out to the NDP and its leadership that the Law of God has never been set aside. So for a nation, who claims to be Christian, why such scandalous behaviour on the part of the Opposition in Parliament? Why such contempt for the Law of God? Is this to be yet another case of Blind leaders of the blind?

    Where are the Guides? Where are they?
