A roadside corn vendor was killed in Stubbs, on Tuesday, when she was struck by a vehicle driven by a man who reportedly does not hold a driver’s permit.
The dead woman is Stubbs resident Josephine Robertson.
She is said to have been struck by a vehicle driven by Lorenzo Mc Lean, aka, “Scougie”, a mechanic, of Diamond.
The accident occurred in an area where Robertson conducts her roast corn business.
Robertson is said to have been gathering sour sop leaves at the side of the road when the accident occurred.
Mc Lean reportedly lost control of the white SUV, which struck Robertson before going over an embankment and landing next to a house.
Mc Lean was seen at the scene interacting with police officers investigating the accident.
He had no observable injuries.
My prayers to the deceased family. Now, what is he going to blame, the brakes. The sad part is, he gets to go home to his family and this lady’s children has no mother to come home to them. The penalty for these drivers for their carelessness and negligence is not enough, he needs a few years in jail to sit and reflect on this accident, the ways in which he has changed the lives of all the family members. Then the car owner’s insurance should compensate the family with some good money, even though I’m sure they’ll rather have their loved one but if drivers are reckless then they should pay millions, Sue the driver for all he has and all he’ll have until those kids are grown and done with college or whatever. Let reckless drivers start paying, hit them in them pockets, let them feel pain. They getting away too easy. Ain’t have no damn license and out there driving, then he should’ve taken his time and drive carefully. Lawd Jesus man. Drivers alyo take aryo time and drive to arrive alive.
