Sol EC Ltd. (St. Vincent and the Grenadines) is donating contributing EC$10,000 in fuel vouchers to the Ministry of Health.

The Vouchers are valid from April 6, 2020.

The company said that it is making the donation as it wants to “recognise our medical heroes who make the trip every day to provide support and health care to our communities.

“We especially acknowledge those medical professionals combatting the novel COVID-19 (Coronavirus) directly on the frontlines, who, everyday make that trip to and from their place of work.”

The fuel vouchers are redeemable at all Sol service stations towards fuel purchases. “Sol encourages communities to continue to embrace social distancing and proper hygiene practices, as we all play our part and support our medical heroes,” a press statement said.

“We take our corporate responsibility seriously and are mindful of the vital role that our products and services play in the communities in which we operate,” said Steve Francis, general manager of Sol.

“This is just our way of saying thanks and supporting those individuals helping others,” he said.

Francis further stated:

“We are committed to the health and safety of our team members, customers and the community as a top priority. We are focused on maintaining a continued, healthy work environment, and have taken extensive preventative measures to protect our staff and their families from exposure to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), to ensure that we continue to provide our products and services safely to our customers.”

  1. What a […] joke. Please show some respect to real health workers who are acutely at risk everyday. There is no epidemic in SVG yet. Kenton this is a gimmick to get some publicity.
