A Central Kingstown woman is expected to appear in court, this week, charged with stealing over EC$100,000 from a local commercial bank where she works.
iWitness News understands that the woman, who is in her 40s and has been employed at the bank for almost two decades, is alleged to have stolen the money over a two-month period.
Sources say that police are also looking into an alleged link between the woman and the September 2019 escape from prison of accused murderer Veron Primus.
Primus, 32, of Vermont, is awaiting trial for the November 2015 murder of 33-year-old real estate agent Sharlene Greaves.
He escaped custody at Her Majesty’s Prisons in Kingstown between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, 2019 and turned himself in on Oct. 1, 2019.
He was sentenced to 16 months in prison for that offence.
Primus has also been indicted in New York in connection with the June 2006 murder, in New York, of 16-year-old Chanel Petro-Nixon.
U.S. authorities have made an extradition request for Primus but Kingstown says it will consider the request after exhausting the legal proceedings in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The woman do not have a name?why hiding her identity? Maybe she knew someone in power.
When you-all giving news you need to be more professional. It hits the airwaves why not let it out.
The woman cannot have a name until due process is done. Natural justice and procedural process have to run its course, or otherwise it’s an allegation. Fear of being sued for malicious prosecution is another reason.
Why is this whole article about Veron Primus.? He did not steal the monies.
Roberts I ask myself the same thing why switch to Vernon when we have a current case which is very serious one
”I will.pay it back”…… No consequences, no remorse, no problem.
This is SVG!
Yeah why is her name not called
Which bank?
What on earth was she thinking? Our culture of I want, I want coupled with the advertising world encouraging even more I want, I want could be responsible for such nefarious behaviour. Yet woman is not alone, what about the big fishes that get away? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDy-cIlSF-w
Wait what happen to the clerk from police headquarters who stole over 150k..????
I wondered the same thing too
Hope they make her pay that money back and do some jail time, too many people do this shit and get away with it.
