Listening to farmer Lloyd Ballantyne’s raucous laughter, it would be difficult to imagine what he has been through this year.
It’s been eight months since I first met Lloyd Ballantyne salvaging what he could from his farm in Fancy after April’s eruption of La Soufriere volcano.
Back then, he dismissed as the volcano crop, the loss of the vegetables that he was about to harvest.
And, as we spoke on Dec. 15, Lloyd was tending to a field of cabbages…

Kenton, this is an excellent presentation. Your videos always captures the essence of Vincy people. The resilience, the optimism, the good-natured and positive attitude of Vincy people in the face of heavy set backs. If you combine the farmers R Marks, Lambkin, this farmer Ballantyne and the Rastaman (the one with the property sale issue in Buccament), you have a feature length documentary film. The shot with the volcano erupting in the background is excellent. Keep it up. Plan you takes well. Kudos.
Bless his heart, this man is a hard worker and will succeed. Happy to see he can take things with such a light heart and can just move on despite his loss, it was good to watch him laugh and have such a positive attitude. Good luck Mr Ballantyne it was a pleasure watching your interview.
