PM Gonsalves to lead delegation to CELAC meeting in Cuba

Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves will lead a delegation including foreign secretary, Sen. Camillo Gonsalves, to the second meeting of the Community of Caribbean and Latin American States (CELAC), scheduled for Jan. 27 to 29 in Havana.

Elson Crick, communication consultant in the Office of the Prime Minister, said the other members of the delegation include Sen. Jomo Thomas, and Kingstown’s ambassador to Havana, Dexter Rose.

St. Clair “Jimmy” Prince, director of the Agency for Public Information, and Eloise Gonsalves, wife of the Prime Minister, are also members of the delegations.

CELAC was thought out on Feb. 23, 2010, at the Rio Group–Caribbean Community Unity Summit, and created on Dec. 3, 2011, in Venezuela, with the signature of The Declaration of Caracas.

CELAC consists of 33 sovereign countries in the Americas, but excludes Canada and the United States.

  1. Peter Binose says:

A great scrounge tour, I hope it turns out to be cost effective. If its not a scrounge and appeal tour then all these people should not be going and once more wasting our money.

It only takes two people at the most not a family party of people and friends.
