ST. VINCENT:- Police in Calliaqua are investigating the drowning death of an 11 year old boy at the Brighton Salt Pond on Sunday, Dec. 26, a well placed source told I Witness-News.

The boy, identified as Jayford Garraway of Prospect, died after he encountered difficulties while sea bathing at the popular recreational spot on the southeastern coast.

The source said that the boy had gone to the picnic area with an uncle, who tried to rescue the lad.

However, according to the source, the uncle, a non-swimmer, also encountered difficulties and had to be rescued by other picnic goers.
