KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – Vincentians can expect the Argyle International Airport to be complete by the end of 2013 Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said on Sunday.

He also said that the facility is now expected to cost EC$652 million, up from the EC$480 million it was estimated to cost when first announced in 2005.

Gonsalves explained the revised cost during the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the terminal building.

He said that so far the International Airport Development Company (IACD) has spent EC$28 million on the project but the value of work done is EC$180 million.

Gonsalves also said that with the international airport on its ways plans are area in place to build a new city at the existing E.T. Joshua Airport site.
